Starting January 3rd, 2012 you can raise awareness for type 1 diabetes and JDRF by replacing your current license plate with a JDRF plate! All it takes is a one time $50 issuance fee. To keep the plate in existence 3,000 must be issued by June 2014 so get yours today!

There are two options for getting a JDRF plate. If your plate is expiring soon you can request a JDRF plate when you renew your plates. The second way is if you want the JDRF plate but your plates are not expiring soon. In this case, you must go to the DMV and request a JDRF plate. Each county has different procedures so contact your local DMV for details!

  • The 2011 Walk to Cure Diabetes raised nearly $900,000 for research.
  • This money helps fund the over $3 million in research that JDRF funds every year in Colorado alone!
  • This year 134 new Family Teams joined us at the Walk!
  • The average amount raise per walker was $54.35
  • Only 36% of participants fundraised.
  • Those walkers that did fundraise raised an average of $335!
  • The average online donation is $56.97 – get two people to donate online and you’ve met your $100 goal!
  • Only 2% of walkers used social media tools to fundraise
  • While 2,982 participants set a fundraising goal, only 730 met their goal.
  • It costs JDRF about $16 per walk participant.

Silhouettes is near and dear to our hearts because they have a very special member, Ellie White. Ellie was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 3 and has been a wonderful advocate for JDRF ever since. She even donates all of her birthday money to JDRF through her Walk team.
